Tactile Maps and Plans (tyflomaps) and Braille public space markings

Tactile Maps and Plans (tyflomaps) and Braille public space markings

Blind or visually impaired persons want to explore the world just like every one. They are curious, want to travel, to do sports, to learn. Tyflography is the solution that helps them enhance perception. Tyflography is the special print technique or the adaptation of real picture in convex form. It helps to “see” by touch. Our goal is to make the visually impaired understand the reality as much as possible.

We offer Tactile Maps and Plans, multisensoric and audio boards, multimedia kiosks, maps and schemes, that are necessary for the blind to get to know the surroundings fast. Plans help to properly bear the blind in the new place, content the information needed as well as warnings against dangerous elements. We offer whole range of plans, made in different technologies (cast, hi pressure molding, milling, multi-layer gluing, 2,5 and 3D printing) and different materials (steel, brass, plastics, stone) – depending of the plan location and function. In addition, we produce pedestals, Braille door markings, and guide-rail markings, mock-ups, thermoforms or resin castings.

1. Stainless steel Tactile Maps

Plan of building or map of the specific area is the basic solution that allows the blind to locomote safely and capably. First, we design the plan/map (usually based on the architectural plans), than we produce it and assemble on site.

Material:

stainless steel 304 L, 316 L
we can, on demand, use brass and other alloys

Fastening :

on frame to the wall
on pedestal to the flooring
other, on demand

Features :

high resistance against destruction attempts
aesthetic looks
resistant to weather conditions
durability- mat or shining finish

2. Color Tactile Maps and Plans – made of plastic

Multicolored tyflomaps are an ideal solution, when the high level of detail is necessary. Much less schematic than those from steel or bras, they represent the true spirit of Universal Design. Our knowledge and experience make us capable to design in accordance with current requirements.

The technology is durable, especially in the indoor use, like in Warsaw Tube and many railway stations all over Poland. It’s visually attractive and weather resistant. On request, we add anti-grafitti layer. Except of contrasting printing, those maps/plans contain convex markings and texts in Braille alphabet.

Material:

plastic of high quality (PC, ADA, PMMA, DiBond)

Fastening :
on frame to the wall
 on pedestal to the flooring

Features :

high resistance against destruction attempts
aesthetic looks
resistant to weather conditions, but designed to be installed inside.
high contrast printing – for the visually impaired

3. Plates and pictograms with Braille markings

Designed to mark toilets, offices, customer service areas, lockers, etc, etc. They convey information and become a part of visual identification system of accommodated facility. Legible and visually attractive graphics make our plates ideal for everybody, but especially the visually impaired.

Material:

plastic resins, metal, glass, wood, etc

Fastening:

glued directly to the surface
on frames
other, on demand

Features :

high resistance against destruction attempts
aesthetic looks
universal pictograms

4. Braille evacuation signs

Both in form of tyfloplans and directing plates, with convey print and Braille signs, designed towards the needs of both blind and visually impaired persons, being, at the same time, usefull for general public.

Material

plastic resins, metal, glass, wood etc.

Fastening:

glued directly to the surface
on frames

other, on demand

Features:

high resistance against destruction attempts
aesthetic looks

universal pictograms

fire protection certificate, if necessary

5. Resin castings, thermoforms, 3D mock-ups and dummers

Having 3D design capability, produce mock-ups and dummers for the visually impaired. Spatial forms are an excellent way for the blind to understand surroundings. Castings are detail oriented, co the cost can be really high

Material:
plastic resins, metal, wood, other materials on demand

Features:
durability
nice looks
high detail accuracy
